About August Anderson

Professional Statement

August Anderson, MD is a radiation oncologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based cancer care at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s June E. Nylen Cancer Center. He specializes in using advanced radiation therapy techniques designed to treat cancer safely and effectively, with care tailored to each patient’s individual goals and needs. He prioritizes listening to patients, providing clear education, and shared decision-making to support patients and families throughout every step of their cancer journey.

In addition to his clinical practice in Siouxland, Dr. Anderson also serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Anderson is committed to improving the quality and value of cancer care globally and has participated in clinical and quality-improvement efforts at cancer centers in developing countries around the world. 

Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree with distinction from the University of California, San Francisco, completed his residency at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Seattle, and has received national recognition for his academic achievements and research.

In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys running, cooking, hiking and volleyball.
